Have questions about bankruptcy claims, need to report an issue, or interested in partnerships? We'd love to hear from you.
What We Can Help With
We welcome inquiries from creditors, bankruptcy professionals, and researchers interested in claims trading and bankruptcy recovery. Here are the types of messages we respond to most frequently:
- Corrections: Did we get a fact wrong about a bankruptcy case or claim trading process? Please let us know. We correct errors quickly and always credit corrections to readers who find them.
- Bankruptcy Case Tips: Have information about an active bankruptcy case, distribution timeline, or claim trading development that hasn't been widely reported? Tips from creditors help us stay ahead of developments.
- Data Requests: Need help finding information about PACER filings, case administrators, or claims trading platforms? We compile this information regularly and can point you to resources.
- Media Inquiries: Are you a journalist working on a bankruptcy or insolvency story? We can provide expert commentary, case research, and verified data for publications, podcasts, and broadcasts.
- Partnership Opportunities: Are you a claims broker, insolvency consultant, or service provider? We partner with organizations serving creditors. Email us about sponsorship, content collaboration, or affiliate opportunities.
- Accessibility Issues: Does our site not work properly on your device? Is content hard to read or navigate? Tell us so we can improve the experience for all readers.
What We Cannot Help With
While we're always happy to help, there are some things we cannot do. If you need these services, here's where to go instead:
- We are not a claims broker: We cannot buy, sell, or trade claims on your behalf. We provide information about claims trading but do not facilitate transactions. Contact a licensed claims broker or trading platform like Xclaim or ClaimsTrader.
- We cannot file proof of claim: We cannot file claims or serve as your agent in bankruptcy court. You or an attorney must file your claim. Contact the case trustee, claims administrator, or an attorney for help.
- We are not attorneys: We provide educational information about bankruptcy claims. We cannot provide legal advice. Consult a bankruptcy attorney for advice specific to your situation.
- We cannot represent you: We cannot appear on your behalf in bankruptcy court, file motions, or serve as legal counsel. You must hire an attorney licensed in your jurisdiction.
- We cannot value your claim: While we publish research on claim values and recovery data, we cannot appraise your specific claim. Claim value depends on case-specific factors. Consult a claims trader or appraiser for valuation.
- We cannot guarantee recovery: We cannot promise you will recover a certain percentage or receive a specific distribution. Bankruptcy outcomes vary widely based on assets, creditor class, and case complexity.
Response Times
We aim to respond to all inquiries within 5 business days. During periods of significant bankruptcy activity or major case developments, response times may be longer. If you don't hear back within a week, please follow up.
We cannot respond to every message, but we read all inquiries. Corrections receive priority, as do tips about unreported developments in active cases.
